The Laser Series Kit includes five aluminum shells: 10x7\" Tom, 12x8\" Tom, 14x14\" Floor Tom, 16x16\" Floor Tom and 20x18\" Bass Drum. The snare drum is not included in the kit and is available separately. Every shell starts as a technical drawing on a computer, held to the same dimensional tolerances as an automotive component, and is assembled and finished by hand, one at a time.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

Every shell is made from a high-strength automotive aluminum alloy, 3mm thick. The material is thermally stabilized through T6 artificial aging, ensuring dimensional stability and mechanical strength over time.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

All Aluvibe shells \u2014 aluminum, steel, carbon fiber or acrylic \u2014 while keeping a strong handcrafted character, are drilled and trimmed with a three-dimensional laser cutting robot. Every shell is closed with a longitudinal laser weld running the full height of the cylinder: a continuous bead joining the two edges of the bent sheet, with high precision and a minimal heat-affected zone. A technique borrowed directly from the automotive industry, it ensures a structurally solid, geometrically stable and aesthetically clean joint \u2014 a distinctive trait rare among handcrafted percussion makers.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n

Cataphoresis Coating<\/h5>\n\t\t\t\t\t

The shell is immersed in a tank containing a water-based paint. By applying direct current, the piece acts as the cathode, and the positively charged paint particles migrate and deposit onto the surface in a thin, uniform and continuous layer \u2014 even in the most hidden or geometrically complex areas.

The treatment serves a dual purpose: anticorrosive protection (automotive-grade black finish, compliant with UNI EN ISO 9227) and galvanic isolation \u2014 preventing corrosion between the aluminum and the ferrous components in contact (screws, lugs, hardware), which could otherwise trigger a \"battery effect\" between dissimilar metals.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n

Flange - Bearing Edge<\/h5>\n\t\t\t\t\t

This isn't an Aluvibe invention: the flange as a bearing edge system has historically been used over time by various drum builders. What's unique about Aluvibe is that every shell size has a custom flange geometry, designed to bring out the sound quality of each drum, making it one of a kind.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\"\"\/\t\t\t\t\t

Each flange is produced with a dedicated mold and cold-formed, 1.5mm thick, treated with the same black cataphoresis process as the shell. The shell-to-flange joint is made with a two-component structural adhesive, of the same type used in the automotive and marine industries. Beyond its bearing edge function, the flange structurally stiffens the shell and ensures a perfect geometry, for a perfect seal of the drumhead.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n

Hoops<\/h5>\n\t\t\t\t\t\"\"\/\t\t\t\t\t

All Aluvibe hoops \u2014 tom, floor tom and bass drum, snares excluded \u2014 are traditional triple-flanged steel hoops, cold-stamped, 1.6mm thick. They work together with the flange (custom-geometry bearing edge) to tension the drumhead via the tension rods.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n

Lugs<\/h5>\n\t\t\t\t\t\"\"\/\t\t\t\t\t

Die-cast aluminum alloy lugs, single-sided type, with integrated gasket and fixing screw. M6 internal thread.
Unlike other brands, Aluvibe chooses to use only metric threads on all its components, partly out of a sense of local pride.
Fixing to the drum: <\/strong>stainless steel screws, with stainless steel washers and neoprene.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n

Aluvibe has its own line of drum heads made of high-quality Mylar.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Drum head: <\/strong>~10 mil (0.25mm), on all tom\/floor tom sizes.
Resonant drumhead: <\/strong>~7.5 mil (0.188mm), on tom and floor tom.
Bass Drum Batter: <\/strong>dedicated drum head with integrated damping ring.
Bass Drum Resonant: <\/strong>dedicated drum head with a hole for microphones.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n

Stand consisting of a tom bracket, screwed to the drum shell, and a tom holder, which attaches the tom to the support rod. Double-lever locking mechanism for quick and stable positioning.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n

Floor Tom stands (14\" \/ 16\")<\/h5>\n\t\t\t\t\t\"\"\/\t\t\t\t\t

The floor tom legs are made internally by Aluvibe, in aluminum, with a 90\u00b0 support angle to improve sound propagation.
They are attached to the drum shell by means of 3 clamp supports, with stainless steel screws and stainless steel and neoprene washers.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n
